Security On Campus, Inc. (SOC), the preeminent national organization working to ensure safer campus communities for over two decades, is proud to build on our historic accomplishments in advocacy, education, training, and policy reform.
Over the past two months alone, SOC has completed three more Clery Act Training Seminars, partnering with the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, University of Pennsylvania, and Northwestern University. Additionally, as technical advisors, SOC trained nearly 100 colleges and universities at a national conference sponsored by the Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women. SOC’s remarkable work is not possible without the help of friends like you.
This September continues SOC’s National Campus Safety Awareness Month campaign (www.ncsam.org) and SOC kicks-off another year of the growing Safe On Campus/Peer Education Program. Please look for our upcoming newsletter. As the fall semester begins, we plan on unveiling many exciting updates and announcements: from a 5k walk/run fundraising event, to website upgrades, and a proactive “Know Your Rights” campaign for campus victims of sexual assault to attain better justice and accountability.
As families prepare to send their children to school, they have a right to know whether the environment is safe; and young adults who are leaving home, in most instances for the first time, should be accurately informed about the safety of their school. Please take an opportunity to visit our website, become our friend on Facebook, and let others know where they can become informed. You could be saving the life of someone you know or love!
Please help us continue to attain our goals and show your support for the remainder of 2010 by clicking the link above to give online. We thank you - on behalf of the victims we serve, students, and campus communities everywhere - for your generosity and being such an integral part of our mission.
Warmest Regards,
 Jonathan Kassa Executive Director |
